# Connect ChatGPT

> Step-by-step setup for connecting Pixalate's MCP server to ChatGPT as a custom MCP server plugin.

ChatGPT uses remote MCP servers through plugins. You add Pixalate once as a custom MCP server, sign in with your Pixalate account, then pick it in a conversation.

Server URL:

```
https://mcp.pixalate.com/mcp
```

> **Note**
>
> Your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings decide whether you can add a custom MCP server. If you don't see the option, ask your ChatGPT workspace admin. This is a ChatGPT permission, not a Pixalate one.

#### Open Plugins

In ChatGPT, go to [Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins). Select the plus button, then **Add custom MCP server**.

#### Add the server

Enter `Pixalate` as the name and a short description. Under **Connection**, paste the server URL above.

#### Choose OAuth

For authentication, choose OAuth. Don't enter an API key or token. Review the warning and select **I understand and want to continue**.

#### Create and install

Select **Create as a plugin**, then install it. When ChatGPT asks you to connect, a browser window opens. Sign in with your Pixalate account and approve access.

#### Use it in a conversation

Start a new conversation, type `@` in the prompt box, and select Pixalate.

## Check that it works

With Pixalate selected, ask:

> What Pixalate reports can I run?

A list of report names means you're connected and your account has access. If ChatGPT can't see any Pixalate tools, see [I connected but I see no Pixalate tools](/mcp/faq#i-connected-but-i-see-no-pixalate-tools).
