# Connect Claude

> Step-by-step setup for connecting Pixalate's MCP server to Claude as a custom connector, and to Claude Code from the command line.

You add Pixalate to Claude once as a custom connector, then sign in with your Pixalate account. The connector works in Claude on the web and in Claude Desktop.

Server URL:

```
https://mcp.pixalate.com/mcp
```

#### Claude (web and desktop)

> **Note**
>
> On a **Team or Enterprise** plan, an owner adds the connector for the whole organization first, under **Organization settings > Connectors**. You then open **Customize > Connectors**, find Pixalate and choose **Connect**. If you can't add a connector yourself, ask your Claude owner. This is a Claude permission, not a Pixalate one.

#### Open connectors

In Claude, go to **Customize > Connectors**, select **+ Add**, then **Add custom connector**.

#### Add the server

Name it `Pixalate`, paste the server URL above, and select **Continue**.

#### Keep the sign-in settings

Claude detects the sign-in settings for you. Keep them, select **Continue**, and leave **Request headers** empty for browser sign-in. Select **Add**.

#### Sign in

Choose **Connect**. A browser window opens. Sign in with your Pixalate account and approve access.

#### Turn it on in your chat

In the conversation, select **+** at the lower left of the chat box, choose **Connectors**, and switch Pixalate on. Connectors are turned on per conversation, so until you do this Claude acts as if Pixalate isn't installed.

#### Claude Code

If you sign in to Claude Code with your Claude account, a connector you added on the web is already available. Run `/mcp` in Claude Code to check that Pixalate is listed.

To add Pixalate to Claude Code directly:

#### Add the server

In a terminal, run:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http pixalate-mcp https://mcp.pixalate.com/mcp
```

#### Sign in

Start Claude Code and run `/mcp`. Select `pixalate-mcp` and follow the prompt. Your browser opens so you can sign in with your Pixalate account.

## Check that it works

Ask Claude:

> What Pixalate reports can I run?

A list of report names means you're connected and your account has access.

If Claude doesn't use Pixalate, check that the connector is switched on for this conversation. Still nothing? See [I connected but I see no Pixalate tools](/mcp/faq#i-connected-but-i-see-no-pixalate-tools).
