# MRT for Slack

> How to install Media Ratings Terminal (MRT) for Slack, link your MRT account, use the /mrt commands, and configure the Home tab.

Media Ratings Terminal (MRT) for Slack brings MRT data into Slack. Use the `/mrt` commands to get a quick overview of an app, CTV app or website, open it in the MRT, and follow it. The app's Home tab shows a summary of what you follow.

## Install the app

#### Add it to your workspace

Open the [MRT for Slack install page](https://slack.com/oauth/v2/authorize?client_id=4596232674.1734105936803\&scope=commands,links:read,links:write) and follow the prompts.

#### Link your MRT account

In Slack, run `/mrt account` and select **Login**, or select **Log In** on the app's Home tab. Linking continues in your browser. Follow the prompts to connect your MRT account.

## Commands

| Command                                           | What it does                                          |
| ------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| `/mrt help`                                       | Lists all commands with a short description of each.  |
| `/mrt app <name, bundle ID or app ID>` | Shows an overview of an App Store or Google Play app. |
| `/mrt ctv <app ID>`                               | Shows an overview of a CTV app.                       |
| `/mrt domain <domain>` or `/mrt website <domain>` | Shows an overview of a website.                       |
| `/mrt account`, `/mrt login`, `/mrt logout`       | Manages the link between Slack and your MRT account.  |

Each lookup returns a short overview of the property's key metrics, a link to view it in the MRT, and a button to follow it. You can't customize which metrics the overview shows.

### Look up a mobile app

```text
/mrt app com.example.app
```

You can pass the app name, bundle ID or app ID. Partial titles work, but for the best match use the full app name or the complete app or bundle ID.

### Look up a CTV app

```text
/mrt ctv 12345
```

CTV lookups support Roku and Fire TV apps, and accept only the exact app ID. Searching by name isn't supported.

### Look up a website

```text
/mrt domain example.com
```

## The Home tab

Once your account is linked, the MRT app's Home tab in Slack shows your top three follows in each category, with links to view them in the MRT. The number shown isn't configurable.

To change the layout:

1. Select **Configure** at the top of the Home tab.
2. To move or hide a section, open the **...** menu at the right of its row and choose an option.
3. To bring back a hidden section, choose it from the **Add a section...** list.
4. To go back to the default layout, select **Reset Layout**.
5. Select **Save** to keep your changes, or **Cancel** (or the **X** at the top right) to discard them.
