Friendly names for IDs
Send Pixalate a CSV that maps your ad-server IDs to readable names, so Analytics reports show the name next to each ID.
Your Pixalate tags pass ad-serving IDs (advertiser, campaign, placement and so on), and Analytics reports show those IDs. With friendly name mapping, reports show a readable name alongside each ID.
You set it up by sending Pixalate a CSV file. You need one file per client ID, ad server and dimension.
1. Create the CSV
Create a spreadsheet with two columns and save it in CSV format:
- The first row is the header:
id,name. The header is case-sensitive. - Column 1 is the ID as passed in your tag.
- Column 2 is the name to show for that ID.
The file name can be anything valid. For example, advertisers.csv:
2. Build the email subject line
The subject line tells Pixalate which client, ad server and dimension the file applies to. Separate the three values with #:
Common adserver values:
If you’re not sure of your paid= value, check your tag or ask support@pixalate.com.
dimension values:
For example:
For more on the tag parameters, see The Pixalate tag and macros.
3. Send the file
Attach the CSV to an email with that subject line and send it to support@pixalate.com. Copy your Pixalate account manager, so they can help if there’s a problem processing the file.
The names appear in the dashboard with the next data refresh, in about 6 hours.
