Media Ratings Terminal

Check the risk, traffic quality, brand safety and compliance of mobile apps, CTV apps and websites before you buy or sell them.

The Media Ratings Terminal (MRT) is Pixalate’s web app for rating ad-supported mobile apps, CTV apps and websites. For each app or domain it shows invalid traffic (IVT), viewability, brand safety, privacy and COPPA signals, made-for-advertising (MFA) risk, traffic sources, authorized sellers and an overall risk rating. You can look up one property, filter millions of them into a list, or upload your own list and check it in bulk.

Open the MRT at ratings.pixalate.com.

Video (2 min): what the MRT is and what you can do in it.

Who uses it

  • Advertisers and agencies vet apps and sites before a campaign and build exclusion and inclusion lists for their partners.
  • Platforms (SSPs and DSPs) vet publishers and partner portfolios, and find properties that share an owner when they optimize supply paths.
  • Publishers see how their own app or site rates on traffic quality, compliance and brand safety, which sellers and inventory sources carry more risk, and how they compare by region and country.

What it covers

Supply typeWhat’s included
Mobile appsApps on Google Play and the Apple App Store, plus bundle IDs that appear in ad traffic but aren’t listed on either store.
CTV appsStreaming apps on major CTV platforms, such as Roku, Fire TV, Samsung, LG TV and tvOS.
WebsitesOpen web domains, with desktop and mobile web traffic.

In the MRT itself these appear as Connected TV, Mobile and Website. Discovery calls websites Domains.

Most data can be viewed globally or for one region, and app data also by country, device and month.

Anyone can create a free account, but a free account sees fewer data points and fewer sections of the MRT. Enterprise clients get an email invitation to finish registering. The MRT uses the same Pixalate account as Pixalate Analytics. See Sign in and manage your account. For access to more data, contact your Pixalate account manager.

MRT, the Enrichment API and Enrichment MCP

There are three ways to work with MRT data. They don’t all cover the same features, so pick the one that fits how you work.

Best forHow you use it
Media Ratings TerminalPeople researching apps and sites, building lists and sharing exportsThe web app at ratings.pixalate.com
Enrichment APIEngineers adding Pixalate ratings to their own systemsREST endpoints for mobile apps, CTV apps and domains, one at a time or in batches
Enrichment MCPAnyone who wants to ask an AI assistant about an app or domain in plain languageConnect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP client to Pixalate

The Enrichment API counts usage the same way as the MRT. See Quota and usage and Quotas, limits and errors.
