Pre-set reports

Ready-made Analytics reports that compare your IVT against gross traffic by app, domain, fraud type, seller, publisher and ad platform.

Pre-set reports are ready-made views in the Pre-Set Reports group of the Analytics dashboard. They use a streamlined set of dimensions and metrics and are optimized to load fast, so they’re the quickest way to see where your invalid traffic (IVT) comes from.

You can retrieve the last 12 months of data in a pre-set report. (The reports under Reports go back 60 days but have more dimensions and metrics. See Run and customize reports.) If you need older data, ask your Pixalate account manager whether a custom retrieval is available.

Video (2 min): a tour of the pre-set reports.

The IVT reports

Each of these reports shows the same three things:

  1. IVT compared with gross traffic. Gross traffic is all traffic before General Invalid Traffic (GIVT) and Sophisticated Invalid Traffic (SIVT) are removed.
  2. A breakdown by the report’s dimension, with separate GIVT and SIVT metrics.
  3. A chart you can switch between a line graph and a pie chart.

The group also has Domain Mismatch, Subdomain Mismatch, Viewability and iCPR reports. See Domain and app spoofing and iCloud Private Relay (iCPR).

For what each IVT type means, see Reported IVT types. For the full classification, see the IVT Taxonomy.

Video viewability and engagement reports

The Video Viewability and Video Engagement reports are under Reports, not Pre-Set Reports. They report video ad delivery, viewability and engagement across three IVT-filtering tiers. For setup and the metric definitions, see Video viewability and engagement and Metrics.

Customize a pre-set report

Pre-set reports work like the other reports:

  • Add or remove dimensions and metrics with Apply Filters or Add Column.
  • Change the date range, save, schedule and export as described in Run and customize reports.

Not every filter is available in every pre-set report, because the reports are optimized for load speed. If you need a dimension a pre-set report doesn’t offer, use the matching report under Reports.

By Domain vs the Domains report

The By Domain pre-set report leaves out impressions with a “not set” or null (empty) domain. The Domains report under Reports includes them.

If your traffic has null domains, the two reports show different gross ad counts even with the same filters and date range. This is expected.
