Connect Cursor

Add Pixalate's MCP connectors to Cursor through mcp.json.

Cursor reads custom MCP servers from an mcp.json file. You add one entry for Pixalate, then sign in with your Pixalate account in the browser.

1

Open your mcp.json

For Pixalate in every project, edit ~/.cursor/mcp.json in your home folder. For one project only, use .cursor/mcp.json in that project. Create the file if it doesn’t exist.

2

Add the Pixalate entry

{
"mcpServers": {
"pixalate-mcp": {
"url": "https://mcp.pixalate.com/mcp"
}
}
}

If the file already has servers, add pixalate-mcp inside the existing mcpServers object. Don’t add a headers or auth block; the entry is complete as shown.

3

Sign in

Save the file. Open Customize in the Cursor sidebar and check that pixalate-mcp is listed and switched on. When Cursor asks you to sign in, a browser window opens. Sign in with your Pixalate account and approve access.

Check that it works

Open the chat and ask:

What Pixalate reports can I run?

Cursor asks for your approval before it runs an MCP tool. Approve the Pixalate tool, and a list of report names means you’re connected and your account has access.

If the server shows an error, the connection or sign-in didn’t finish. Switch it off and on again in Customize to retry. If it’s connected but has no tools, see I connected but I see no Pixalate tools.
